Use of the weight rooms or gyms is not allowed unless it is supervised.  This is the requirement in both the Sheffield and Rockwell buildings.

PLEASE DO NOT park on East side of street until 3:00.

Where: North Gym in the high school

Time: 10:00-2:30

If you have been to Mexico (anywhere in the country) you need to wait 28 days from your return to donate.

Anyone 16 and older is welcome to donate.  If you are 16-17 and this is your first time donating, you need to have the Parental/Guardian Permission Form signed.  You can find that form in the high school office.  If you wish to donate, please stop by the high school office or call the office at 641-892-4461, and schedule a time.  Walk-ins are welcome! 

Track Team Pictures for the paper tomorrow at 3:30 in the gym for boys and girls track members.  Bring your track jerseys. 

Ellsworth College rep will be here at 11:10 on Thursday, March 31.

Any softball girl that would like an order form needs to pick them up in Coach Dickman’s room.  Order forms are due Friday, April 1st.

**UPDATE on Washington DC 2017 Trip**

The dates for the trip have been changed to the last week of July 2017  At the meeting in February it was discussed of a possible date change, and hopefully this will free up any conflicts students have with June.

In addition to the trip date changes, the tour company is running a “March Madness” promotion.  Anyone who enrolls before April 4th will get $50 off the total cost of the trip.  You can sign up any time after that date, but will not receive the $50 off.

What to Bring:  All families attending please bring a main dish.  Plus…

                               Freshman/Juniors – Bring a salad

                               Sophmores/Seniors – Bring a dessert

Please bring your own tableware and drinks.

The weight room will be open Thursday and Friday. On Friday it won't open until 3:45ish. Thursday it will be open right after school.

Sheffield Swimming Pool is now accepting applications for life guards for the 2016 season.  Applications are available in the office for anyone interested.  Turn applications into Sheffield City Hall.

The Rockwell Aquatic Center is now accepting applications for life guards and concession workers for the 2016 season.               

                Applications can be picked up at the Rockwell City Hall or obtained online at Rockwell-ia.org.

                Applications need to be returned to the Rockwell City Hall by April 15th.

Our NIACC rep will be here on Friday, April 8 from 8AM-10AM to register students for fall NIACC classes. Please use the sign-up sheet in the office to sign up for a time to meet with her. If you would like to look at available classes before that time, see Mrs. Knudson for instructions on how to search for available fall term classes.  

Juniors – Please let Mrs. Knudson know ASAP if you are interested in taking NIACC Composition next year.

Sophomores and Juniors – Please let Mrs. Knudson know if you are interested in attending the 2016 Youth Entrepreneurial Academy at NIACC this summer. You will gain valuable business experience and an automatic $500 scholarship if you enroll in a program at NIACC following graduation! The Academy is FREE and Mrs. Knudson has applications.

Any TAG student interested in volunteering on Monday afternoons with k-1st grade, please email Mrs. Wolff.   You can help any amount of time, need help especially 3rd block.

Sheffield Care Center is looking for CNA's for short shifts and are very willing to work around school schedules and extracurricular activities. Starting pay is $11.50 an hour.  If you are interested please fill out an application at the Care Center or at www.sheffieldcarecenter.com

Iowa Central Community College rep will be here April 5th.

Hawkeye Community College rep will be here April 6th.

Capri College (Cosmetology) will be here at 11:00am on Friday, April 8th.

Think Thrive Day at UNI on April 14 for high ability sophomores and juniors.  Those that are interested need to let Mrs. Wolff know

The National Cattle Congress would like to invite all eligible students to participate in the upcoming National Cattle Congress Queen Workshop on April 10, 2016 and the NCC Queen Contest on June 26th, 2016. They hope to get as many students involved as possible! This is a great opportunity for young women to learn about resume writing, professional attire, etiquette and so much more! As well as an opportunity to run for the NCC Fair Queen. Please see Mrs. Knudson for more information if you are interested.

Pictures are needed for the yearbook.  Anyone (parents or students) who likes to take pictures of student activities can submit pictures for possible use in the yearbook.   The more variety of pictures the better!  Just send them as an attachment to stacey.ubben@westforkschool.org.​
